A big CONGRATULATIONS goes out to my friends at Farallone View for being the FIRST benefactor of a program whereby I donate $1,000 to the LOCAL non-profit organization of the buyer or seller's choice (for every real estate transaction I participate in).
Last week I headed out to Farallone View Elementary School to give them the $1,000 check. A welcome crew consisting of Sara Bunkin (PTO Co-President), Katie Aschero (PTO Co-President), Lisa Phelan (Director of Communications), Christina Frediani (FV parent and active PTO member), and Cesar Gaytan (School Principal) came out to meet me. To my astonishment, they had put together a thoughtful care package for me containing tons of Farallone View swag and handwritten thank you cards from the kids!! The Beanie and Sweatshirt couldn't have come at a better time given this rain we've been having. Thank Guys!
It had been a few yeas since I had spent any meaningful time at Farallone View so I took the opportunity to walk around and snap a few photos. This stroll turned out to be a nostalgic, almost melancholic experience. My childhood and adolescence were rooted in Montara but these memories were becoming distant in some way. I walked quietly through the school and made my way to the northern end of LeConte Ave. As I looked down over the playground with the white sands of Montara beach and the beautiful Pacific Ocean in the background I was reminded that "this" is where I came from. I know that is a strange thing to say because I never really left the coast. I live in El Granada now which is still "here" but Montara is different in a very special way. Those that live or have lived there know what I am talking about. Montara, cradled by a majestic mountain and flanked on 3 sides by miles of open space and an entire ocean is the "jewel of the coast". Its only public school, Farallone View Elementary, is quite possibly the best neighborhood school you could ask for!
I would like to extend a big thank you to the Farallone View children, Staff, and PTO for their warm hospitality. Let this be the first of many $1,000 checks they receive as a result of our program.

Element, Community Minded Real Estate is the brain child of two childhood friends who came together to create a different type of real estate company. At Element we stand for two things; our clients and the communities they live in.
Yes, we are experts in home buying and selling, property management, relocation, foreclosures and short sales, as well as real estate investing. Our 600+ transactions and better part of a century of local experience well position us to exceed all expectations.
But real estate without an organized approach to bettering the community is a hollow enterprise. At Element we believe helping community members buy or sell homes should be one part of larger strategy to create a richer, more supportive community. And this is exactly what we do! From community outreach programs, to active involvement and financial support to local organizat ions, to producing relevant content for both local residents and tourists, we are committed to making our community better place.
It seems a bit strange to be talking about flowers on a day where it's
"The guys at Element Real Estate were awesome. They helped me find our families first home in a painless manner. They were attentive, patient, and walked us through every step of the way. They also helped us get connected into our new community by helping us understand the local school system, and the various community services we have at our disposal. We love Matt and Danny"
